About us
A friendly church in a Yorkshire valley, with a long story and a lot going on.
St Paul's has stood in Armitage Bridge for generations. The village grew up around the Brooke family's mill, and the church, built with the Brookes' support, has been part of village life ever since.
Today we're a lively, mixed congregation: families with young children, people who've been here for decades, and newcomers who've wandered in through the churchyard. We worship together on Sundays, ring the bells, tend the churchyard, bake for good causes and try to look after each other.
New here?
Nobody expects you to know what's going on. Here are the answers to the things people usually wonder.
Our story
A valley, a mill, a fire and a rebuild: how St Paul's came to be the church it is.
Our people
The people to ask when you're not sure who to ask.
The churchyard
Part graveyard, part nature reserve, and looked after by a dedicated band of volunteers.
Safeguarding
Everyone has the right to be safe in church.
