A baptism is a joyful way to welcome someone into the family of the church. We baptise babies, children and adults, and the service is a chance for your family and friends to gather, to say thank you, and to promise to help the person being baptised grow in faith.
You don't need to be a regular churchgoer to ask about baptism. We'd love to meet you, hear your story and explain what happens.
If baptism isn't quite right
Some families would like to give thanks for a new child without a baptism. A service of thanksgiving is a lovely alternative, and one we're happy to talk about.
Questions people ask
What are the first steps?
Get in touch with us. We'll arrange a chat about what baptism means, who might be godparents and what the service involves.
Who can be a godparent?
Godparents are people who promise to support the child in faith and in life. We'll talk through what that involves and who might be suitable when we meet.
When do baptisms take place?
Often as part of a Sunday service, so the church family can welcome the newcomer together. We can talk about what suits you.
Can adults be baptised?
Yes. People come to faith at every age. Contact us and we'll talk about preparation and what the day will look like.
Is there a charge?
There's no charge for a baptism. Please ask if you have any questions.
