The Christmas shoebox appeal, coordinated by T4U (Teams for You), goes ahead again this November. Last year around 60,000 shoeboxes went to Eastern Europe, nearly 4,000 of them from Meltham. This year they're heading to Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia and Romania.
You could fill a box for a child with practical things (toothbrush, soap, gloves, pens and paper) and a few small gifts such as a soft toy, a ball or a game. Wrapped boxes and labels are available from Caroline, and she'll collect from church or from your house.
Not able to fill a box? You can pay £20 for someone else to fill one for you, or £3.50 to help with transport costs.
Hand in by Sunday 1 November
Please contact Caroline Jones on 07810 323246 for details. Volunteers are also welcome at the packing centre at St James', Meltham Mills, open 3 to 20 November, even for an hour or two.
